Angela Gandolfo
Biography
Angela Gandolfo began studying opera-singing at a very young age, alongside that of the piano, finishing her studies at the “A. Boito” conservatory in Parma with full marks and honors with maestro Maurizio Leoni. She is still perfecting herself with the tenor Fabio Armiliato. In 2021 she finished the film and television acting course at the Academy of artists in Milan. She participated in master classes with Renato Bruson, Amarilli Nizza, Chris Merritt, Leone Magiera, Federico Longhi.
Angela Gandolfo has performed in concerts in several Italian cities Parma, Busseto and Roncole Verdi, Bologna, Modena, Turin, Milan, Como, Rome, Venice, Verona, Rieti, Palermo, Montecatini Terme, Lucca, Genoa. Performances in concerts in other major cities, outside Italy, have been in Stockholm, London, Zurich, Winterthur, Dietikon, Metz, Creutzwald, Nice. On 20 October 2011 she performed at the Italian Cultural Institute in London in a concert in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, an event awarded, with a medal, by the President of the Italian Republic, G. Napolitano, and with the extraordinary participation of Maestro Michele Pertusi. Gandolfo has participated in the events organized for the Verdi Festival since 2016 in Parma (last in 2024), for the International Festival "Il Serchio delle Muse" (Lucca) founded by Maestro Luigi Roni (last in 2024) and the Festival "Onde Musicali sul Lago d'Iseo" in 2023 in the year of Brescia and Bergamo Capital of Italian Culture. In 2017 she participated in two tours in China in Soprano-Piano formation with M° Roberto Barrali, enjoying success with the public and critics, performing in prestigious theaters, concert halls and art centers in the following cities: Xi'an, Ningbo, Weihai, Suzhou, Jinjiang, Fuling. On 24 March 2018 she performed as soprano soloist at the Casa della Musica in Parma for the inauguration ceremony of the statue of Giuseppe Verdi. For years she has carried out an intense concert activity in formation of Piano Duo with Maestro Roberto Barrali, with whom she won the IV National Competition A.Gi.Mus. and the XI Benedetto Albanese National Competition. In 2021 she participated in a concert dedicated to Renata Tebaldi in Langhirano (Parma).
She was a teacher of Diction for Opera Singers at the Renato Bruson Academy (a role she held in summer 2019 at the MOA - Montecatini Opera Academy).
In the context of performances from the sacred repertoire we remember "Liszt's Via Crucis" as soprano soloist (Parma, 2009 and 2017); "Petite Messe Solennelle" by G. Rossini at the Parma Cathedral (2017) alongside internationally renowned artists (Michele Pertusi, Anna Maria Chiuri); Requiem by G. Fauré as Ist soprano soloist (2018, 2020, 2023); Solo soprano Requiem by J. Rutter (2019 and 2021).
In January 2019 she performed at the Teatro Comunale "Mario del Monaco" in Treviso on the occasion of the Opera Gala closing the events for the 150th anniversary of the death of the composer from Pesaro. In 2022 she performed in the Ridotto of the Teatro Regio in Parma for the presentation events of "Norma" and "La Forza del Destino" and took part in a concert dedicated to the figure of the poet Petrarch at the Auditorium del Carmine in Parma. In the same year she won the “Verdi Soprano” prize at the 3rd “Ottavio Garaventa” international opera competition. In 2023 she was Violetta in La Traviata by G. Verdi for the Summer Reggia Opera Festival at the Reggia di Colorno (Pr), a role she already performed in 2016 at the Teatro Duse in Bologna, in 2014 (together with Leonora in Il Trovatore, G. Verdi) at the Nuovo Teatro San Babila in Milan and in 2013 on the occasion of the celebrations of Verdi's Bicentenary in various Italian cities. In 2023 she performed in Modena for a concert tribute to Maria Callas on the centenary of her birth and in 2024 in a concert tribute to Giacomo Puccini on the centenary of his death at the Castello della Rovere in Vinovo (TO). In 2025 she participated as a soprano soloist in the Christmas concert at the Teatro Comunale Pavarotti - Freni in Modena and debuts the role of Santuzza of Cavalleria Rusticana of P. Mascagni.
