Nerea González Otero

Nerea, a soprano who was born in Spain, is characterized by her dark sound with agility;therefore, her repertoire comprises Bel canto, Verdi and Verismo. 

She made her debut with the role of Abigaille in Nabucco G. Verdi´s Oper Im Berg Festival in both Salzburg (Austria) and Amerang (Germany) after winning the first prize at Grandi Voci Competition, February 2024.

She was invited to take part of FIDMA centenary by Ópera de Oviedo and “Cámara de Comercio” of Gijón (Spain) as part of the “Music Day” with the aim of 2024-2025 Opera season presentation where she sang Anna Bolena by G.Donizetti, Norma by V. Bellini and Contessa Di Almaviva by W.A Mozart main arias.

One year later, she represented “Opera de Oviedo” in Oper-Air-Music Festival DESCOPERA together with National Philharmonic Orchestra Serghei Lunchevici in Moldova but her debut at Teatro Campoamor was in Rigoletto as Giovanna and Contessa di Ceprano, with Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Óliver Díaz. December 2025. During her performances at the Theater, she met the pianist Carlos Sanchís, with whom begins to work.

Oviedo was always a relevant city to Nerea because apart from having made her debut in Spain there, she also started studying Singing with Dolores Suárez at the same time she was taking her Degree in Musicology. Straight after she obtained the previous mentioned Degree, she met the baritone David Menéndez Díaz who became Nerea´s teacher from 2018 together with the pianist Giorgio Celenza, both based in Valencia. In June 2019, Nerea received the Extraordinary Prize, singing specialty, at Conservatory Xoan Montes, Lugo.

Among some other Master Classes attended, it should be remarked the one conducted by baritone Carlos Álvarez and repetiteur José Ramóm Martín Díaz, with a recital partcipation in Ópera A Coruña next season as a result.
