Alessandra Albo

Born in Rome in 1968, Alessandra Albo is a violinist, violist, orchestra conductor, and professor of Theory, Analysis, and Composition. Her artistic career combines a strong academic background, extensive concert experience, and a deep passion for music education.

She graduated in Violin and Chamber Music from the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome and in Orchestral Conducting from the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan, developing a rich and versatile musical path both as an instrumentalist and as a conductor.

As a violinist and violist, she has performed in a variety of chamber ensembles — including flute quartet, string quartet, trio, and violin-piano duo — distinguished by her interpretative sensitivity and refined musical expression.

As an orchestra conductor, she has led prestigious Italian and international ensembles, including the Siena Chamber Orchestra, the “Guido Cantelli” Orchestra of Milan, the “I Pomeriggi Musicali” Orchestra of Milan, the Sofia Symphony Orchestra, the Danubia Orchestra of Budapest, the Ploiești Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the Teatro Municipal of Santiago de Chile, and the Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with orchestral institutions of great artistic tradition.

Her musical education was enriched through studies with renowned masters of composition and conducting, including Ada Gentile, Nazario Bellandi, Francesco Telli, Vittorio Fellegara, Massimo Pradella, Vittorio Parisi, Aldo Ceccato, Donato Renzetti, and Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. She was also a finalist in the prestigious “Franco Ferrara Prize”, an important recognition dedicated to promising young orchestra conductors.

Alongside her concert career, Alessandra Albo has always devoted significant attention to music education. After teaching at the Milan Conservatory, she won the national competitions for teaching Theory, Analysis and Composition, as well as Violin, in Italian Music High Schools, ranking first in both competitions with the highest possible score. She is currently Professor of Theory, Analysis, and Composition at the “Paolina Secco Suardo” Music High School in Bergamo.

She has also recorded a CD with the Bergamo-based ensemble “Estudiantina”, dedicated to original works for plucked-string orchestra, featuring music spanning more than two centuries, from the nineteenth century to contemporary composers.

In recent years, her artistic activity has received important international recognition. Among the most significant awards:

An artist of intense and refined musical personality, Alessandra Albo continues today to combine concert performance, orchestral conducting, and teaching, promoting a vision of music as a space for research, expression, and cultural growth.
