Luca Pasqua

He studied trombone, orchestra conducting, wind orchestra conducting and choral conducting under the guidance of prestigious teachers of the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of Milan and specialized in orchestral and choral conducting with Donato Renzetti, Renato Rivolta, Massimiliano Caldi, and Bruno Bodignon.

With over thirty years of experience engaged in concert activities across numerous ensembles, Luca collaborated as director and instrumentalist with esteemed orchestras such as the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, the Verona Arena Orchestra, I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra, the “Città di Vigevano” Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Lecco, the Symphony Orchestra of Savona, the Wind Orchestra of Valtellina, the Symphony Orchestra of the Civic Schools of Music of Milan, the Civic Wind Orchestra of the Municipality of Milan, the Savona Wind Orchestra, the Orchestra di Fiati della Brianza, the Soncino Wind Orchestra (BS), the Sestri Levante Wind Orchestra, the Vox Aurae Wind Ensemble of Arese (MI) and the Rovereto Wind Orchestra.

In 2013 he embarked on a journey in the lyrical and symphonic field with the Orchestra Città di Vigevano and the Vox Aurae Chamber Orchestra which would lead him to successfully organize and set up musical theater shows, gala concerts, symphonic and sacred concerts, and operas, making his debut as conductor in Il barbiere di Siviglia (2013), Cavalleria Rusticana (2015), La Traviata (2017) and Tosca (2018).

Jointly with other musicians, in 2002 he founded Vox Aurae APS, a musical association in Arese (MI), where he serves as Artistic Director, contributing to the establishment of the polyphonic choir and the wind ensemble, a Milanese wind orchestra which he transformed into a key reference for band complexes in the province of Milan. As a musical director, he is active in national and international competitions and organizes numerous master classes featuring renowned musical personalities.

In 2014 he commenced collaboration as the director of the Civica Orchestra di Fiati of the Municipality of Milan, the only Italian professional civil wind ensemble, that he directed across concerts in prestigious music venues in Milan such as Palazzina Liberty,  Teatro Dal Verme, Castello Sforzesco and  Sala Verdi of the Milan Conservatory also jointly with contemporary composers such as Luca Francesconi (performance of Fresco for the opening of the MilanoMusica season), actors and comedians such as Banda Osiris and soloists such as Matteo De Luca, first trombone soloist at Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

He is currently serving as the principal conductor of Vox Aurae Choir, Vox Aurae Wind Ensemble, and Groane Youth Symphony Orchestra, a permanent youth orchestra established in 2019 that follows the model of large European production orchestras, producing symphonic and choral concerts.

An attentive scholar, he contributes to sector newspapers in the world of bands and wind ensembles. He counts to his credit several world and Italian premieres of pieces by contemporary authors for wind orchestra.

Since 2015 he has been a member of Wasbe (World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles) and since 2019 he has been an active member of Diba (Italian Association of Band Directors).
